Google bigger than Channel 4
Interesting post from Jeff Jarvis which says that Google is on track to become Britain’s largest advertising company. Google’s revenue was over £800m last year, overtaking Channel 4’s £775m. It is catching up fast with the top ad revenue earner ITV which was on £1.63bn last year.

Online ads continue to rise
John Battelle points to the latest figures from the IAB and PriceWaterhouseCoopers which show that online display continues to rise sharply and that in the final quarter of 2006 it reached $4,8bn in the US, an all-time record and nearly a third up on the same period a year earlier.

Apollo to take off
Social site tool
Techcrunch reports on Ning, a tool which allows users to create social networking sites by dragging and dropping site elements into a template. It has been funded mostly by Marc Andreesson, founder of Netscape, who has so far put in $9m.
