Fire Eagle is a new location service from Yahoo! which has just entered private beta, according to Techcrunch. The service has been build with powerful APIs which allow data to get in and out very easily. It could, for instance, geo-code Flickr photos by figuring out your location at the time when a picture was taken. Expect a lot more action in this location space…

Xinu Returns is a new website just discovered by Communication Overtones which syndicates queries to all sorts of APIs to give an excellent snapshot of a site/page’s performance. It includes a thumbnail, syndication, ranking, indexed pages and more – on many, many services. It was running really slowly when I tried it, but if it works it could be a really interesting tool…
